The Asian Concrete Construction Institute

The Asian Concrete Construction Institute was first mooted in 2002 by a small group of engineers to provide a regional forum for the concrete industry from owners, academia and industry to network and to learn from each other.   In May 2004, the Institute was registered in Singapore under the Societies Act as a non profit body.  China, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand are currently represented in the Institute.

The mission of the Institute is to promote excellence in the use of concrete through regional co-operation, exchange of information and research collaboration.   The Institute offers solution oriented strategies for the advancement of the concrete industry in Asia.   Work Groups are formed to address the diversified interests of the members which range for development of harmonized concrete materials codes in the region, self regulation of the industry to high performance concrete.

The Singapore Institute of Building Limited (SIBL)

The Singapore Institute of Building Limited (SIBL) was incorporated and registered with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) in 1981 to be The Professional Institute in Singapore for Qualified Building Professionals, engaged in Building practice in a managerial, technical or administrative capacity in the development, construction and maintenance of buildings, including those who are engaged in academic research and teaching.

The Institute also upholds the competency and standards of the Building and Facilities Management professions, while promoting and advancing the status and interests of Professional Builders and Facilities Managers through training, education and research.

SIBL is a founding member of the Construction Industry Joint Committee (CIJC) and Corporate Member of Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC).

Iron and Steel Institute of Thailand (ISIT)

The Iron and Steel Institute of Thailand (ISIT) is an independent body established by the Ministry of Industry in November 2000 under the Industrial Development Foundation. The Institute represents the united intention of the state and the private sector to see effective co-ordination of their efforts in enhancing the strength of the iron and steel industry development in Thailand.

Safety and Heath at Work Promotion Association (THAILAND) – SHAWPAT

Over the past 31 years, SHAWPAT has been working closely and in collaboration with the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, the Social Security Office, and other Agencies in the Ministry of Labour and other Ministries as well as other private industries and enterprises. SHAWPAT is also expanding its OSH training facilities to include more practical training programs for workers and personnel related to occupational safety, health and environment.

Technology Promotion Association (Thailand-Japan)

Technology Promotion Association (Thailand-Japan), or TPA, was officially established on the 24th of January 1973 with the strong intention, co-operation, and sacrifice of the Japanese alumni and those who were trained in Japan with the ABK (the Asia Bunka Kaikan) and AOTS (the Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship) scholarships.

The Concrete Society

The Concrete Society was founded in 1966 and remains an independent technical organisation with a broad membership base that includes professional engineers and designers; the contracting and material supply industry, academia and client bodies from over 60 countries.

The Society offers a comprehensive portfolio of products and services to the industry including the high regarded advisory service which offers prompt and impartial support to industry clients either on site or by telephone and email.

It is also held in high regard for its magazines and technical reports providing an invaluable information resource operating the world’s largest collection of cement and concrete related material with construction titles now numbering in excess of 144,000.
